High Desert Playback is all about community. What we do only works when the room feels cared for, the stories are held with respect, and the people behind the scenes are aligned with our values.
We’re building a volunteer team of thoughtful, reliable, creatively generous humans who believe that listening is a radical act and community doesn’t happen by accident. This isn’t about filling spots. It’s about finding people who feel energized by this work and want to help shape the container where stories can be told.

What You’ll Do
There are a number of opportunities to lend your talents and interests towards helping High Desert Playback grow and thrive.
We are currently seeking volunteers for the following projects:
You like to bring a sort of vibe.
From welcoming folks at the door to resetting chairs, you help create the container where stories become a work of art. Tasks might include greeting guests, set up and strike, taking thoughtful notes, running the merch table, or jumping into whatever delightful chaos arises.
You’re warm, reliable, and secretly love a good checklist.
Events Team
You like being on the move.
Armed with flyers, postcards, and a sense of adventure, you bring HDP into the wild. Coffee shops. Community boards. Local businesses. You know this city or you’re ready to learn it.
You enjoy small missions, solo quests, and the quiet satisfaction of spreading the word the analog way.
Flyer Distribution Crew
You are comfortable saying, “Let me tell you about this thing I love.”
You table at events, talk with strangers like they’re future collaborators, and amplify HDP online in ways that feel authentic to you. Maybe you create original content. Maybe you share ours. Maybe you spark conversations that ripple outward.
You are a strong communicator and connector who loves to share what you know.
